First generation computers were started by Konrad Zuse and were created for strategic purposes because the navy of many countries including the U.S. needed a way of firing the artillery cannons more accurately. This computer used vacuum tubes to transport data to and from the computer. This computer also used 1GL as the programming language, though 1GL was a compilation of a whole load of programming languages it was formally known as one programming language.
